Dr. David Dorman Selected as 2021 ABVT Service Award Recipient

The ABVT periodically recognizes diplomates within the organization who make an outstanding contribution to the art and science of veterinary toxicology and/or to the ABVT organization itself.



Congratulations to Dr David Dorman, winner of the 2021 ABVT Service Award!  Dr. Dorman served on ABVT’s executive board as president elect (2016-2018), as president (2018-2020), as an exam committee member (2018-2019), as exam chair (2020) and on the ABVT Board of Regents (2020-2023).  Dr. Dorman has served in each of these positions previously.  In 2016, he spearheaded a member-wide survey to determine views of veterinary toxicologists toward their ABVT certification and the adequacy of training programs.  In 2019, at the advisement of the Veterinary Specialty Organizations Committee, Dr. Dorman designed, administered, and analyzed results from an ABVT Job Survey.  During his time as president (2018-2020), Dr. Dorman completed his goal of updating ABVT’s website. Additionally, in 2019, he instigated and oversaw the first administration of an electronic certification exam.  Dr Dorman has been critical to the success of the ABVT and is deserving of this recognition.
